La Casa a Piazzano

This recently converted country home at the Umbrian/Tuscan border was the home where the owner grew up as a child. With love and attention, she changed it into a comfortable holiday home with 4 bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom and air conditioning.

The location, only a 10-minute drive from Cortona, is perfect to explore this lovely Etruscan town that became famous due to the American writer Frances Mayes, who settled down here. 

The vacation home is located in the midst of some fields in the valley of Piazzano. The living area is on the first floor to be reached by a stone staircase and a long balcony. One enters the kitchen and living area that stretches the width of the house. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven, dishwasher, large refrigerator, microwave oven, and 4 gas pits to cook on. 

A corridor leads to the 4 bedrooms that are completely new and have their own bathroom with a shower, air conditioning, and a television. Each bedroom has a double bed, and there is a possibility to add an extra single bed in 3 of the rooms. 

In the garden downstairs is the swimming pool of 8 by 4 meters and 1.50 meters deep. There are wide views over the surrounding countryside with amazing sunsets.

Driving distances from the house, into Tuscany:
Camucia with a weekly market on Thursday morning and several larger supermarkets: 10 minutes, Arezzo 50 minutes, Siena 1 hour, Montepulciano 45 minutes, Firenze 1 hour and 50 minutes

Driving distances into Umbria:
Perugia 50 minutes, Assisi 1hr and 15 minutes, Orvieto 1 hr and 20 minutes, To Lake Trasimeno: Castiglione del Lago 30 minutes, Passignano sul Trasimeno 25 minutes, Panicale 45 minutes
